A novel role of Hippo-Yap/TAZ signaling pathway in lymphatic vascular development

The lymphatic vasculature plays important roles in regulating fluid homeostasis, intestinal lipid absorption, and immune surveillance. Malfunction of lymphatic vasculature leads to several human diseases. Understanding the fundamental mechanism in lymphatic vascular development could provide a new therapeutic approach. Hippo-YAP/TAZ signaling pathway has emerged as a key player in controlling organ size and tissue homeostasis. Here, we review the molecular mechanisms by which Hippo-YAP/TAZ pathway regulating lymphatic specification, sprouting, and maturation.
